A new energy efficient Muir Home is, on average 30% more energy and CO2 friendly than other homes built before 2010 and on average 50% more energy and CO2 efficient than homes built before 2007. We have reduced the energy demand of our homes by improving the quality of the building fabric, its insulation and its airtightness. Every Muir Homes is fitted with the latest energy saving technology such as flue gas heat recovery and waste water heat recovery systems, both making huge savings in terms of cost and energy. We fit more complex technologies - solar thermal hot water panels, photovoltaic panels and heat pumps when they are needed.
