Leslie House Gardens - Location
Location

Leslie is a charming village, west of Glenrothes in the Fife countryside. The village was given its name by Sir George Leslie who became the first Earl of Rothes in 1458. On completion in 1674, Leslie House became the seat of the Duke of Rothes. The house was built as a quadrangle in the style of Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh and became the focal point of village life.

This sense of village life is enhanced by the community facilities in the village of Leslie, including local shops, pubs, restaurants and a good primary school. Glenrothes, 3 miles distant and Kirkcaldy 10 miles away, offer significant shopping centres with most major high street retailers.

Leslie is perfectly located to take advantage of the many sports and recreational opportunities in Fife and is very popular with golfers, walkers and those who like to fish. The charms of the East Neuk, with the delightful seaside villages of Elie, Anstruther and Crail, can be easily reached as can St Andrews, the golfers paradise, which is just over twenty miles away.
