Make this home your ‘castle’ at The Castleton

Glamorous neutral shades take centre stage in Muir Homes’ new stunning Strathearn Showhome at The Castleton, Auchterarder.

Muir Homes has launched a fabulous new showhome at its Auchterarder development, The Castleton. The stunning five bedroom detached Strathearn villa is the top of the range house-type at The Castleton which is proving to be one of Muir’s most successful developments.

“We are delighted to launch this new showhome here at The Castleton and are confident that all who view will be impressed, ” said Rosemary Livingstone, Sales and Marketing Manager for Muir Homes “It’s the second showhome for this prestigious development and the first time we have showcased one of our larger designs. There has been huge scope to really highlight the features and top class specification for which Muir is known in the marketplace.”

“The Strathearn is a family house type, with an abundance of space, and as such the showhome decor has been designed to appeal to this market. As ever, the top design professionals we work with at Muir have ensured that the look of the showhome is contemporary and glamorous but also very practical. With its neutral colourway, anyone buying the property, later on, can easily make their own mark,” she said.

Added Rosemary Livingstone: “The Castleton has been very popular with not only the local market across the Central belt but also with the holiday home market. This is such a well-placed spot for golfing, fishing and a whole host of leisure pursuits, that buyers have been quick to see the investment potential of a holiday home here. The area has an enduring appeal. “

Shades of warm taupe, together with black and white, feature throughout the stunning new showhome.  The hallway is wallpapered in a Designers Guild distressed plaster effect paper with a soft metallic effect, from the latest collection from this iconic design house.   A huge crystal globe chandelier hangs over the stairwell for maximum effect. Moving into the living room, a striking wallpaper from Romo takes centre stage, accentuated with rich and sumptuous velvet curtains with black accessories.

The kitchen/ family area is decorated in a wide stripe paper from Lorca, with black sofas and coordinating cushions.   This room has a country kitchen feel with a shaker style kitchen and wooden effect worktops.   The open dining area coordinates in another stunning Designer Guild wallpaper with a distressed oak table and damask style chairs. A feature chandelier, always a very impressive touch, hangs over the table.

Upstairs and into the master bedroom, the latest Zinc Glamorama wallpaper features with a sumptuous headboard in a deep buttoned velvet.  Once again there is a striking chandelier to form a real talking point in the room.

Bedroom Two has a very unusual black and white striped bed and footboard which carries the black and white theme to full effect.  The walls are painted in Farrow and Ball and the curtains are in a Harlequin feature fabric. Bedroom Three has panelled wallpaper from Andrew Martin with a shiny chrome bedstead. Once again there are black and white accessories and prints, along with a Lorca fabric made into a blind.

A country theme in old gold with hints of black and white features in the fourth bedroom, which has a feature wall in a Ralph Lauren checked wallpaper.  The headboard has large stud detailing in bronze. The final bedroom in the house, which could also be used as an office, is decorated in a map wallpaper from Christian Lacroix which is very eye-catching.

The Castleton, Auchterarder offers a wide choice of energy efficient starter, family, and holiday homes – from bungalows, stylish terraced and semi-detached villas to luxury top end three, four and five bedroom detached villas. Several brand new house types from the Muir stable have made their debut here.
